Halifax Art Map Artist Profile Application

The Halifax Art Map Society provides a unique guide to studios and galleries used by visitors and local art lovers alike. Halifax Art Map profiles the high-quality visual arts and crafts found in the Halifax Regional Municipality, and highlights artists, galleries and businesses that support the visual arts.

Combined print and web listings for artists display all pertinent contact and location information, links to websites, a brief artist description and on our website a bio. A maximum of 6 full-colour images as examples of the work are included in each web profile and a single image is displayed in print. Artist and gallery exhibitions, festivals and other items of interest are promoted through social media as supplied by participants. There are a limited number of combo print/web profiles available on first come first serve basis. Deadline April 15,2023. Please be advised that the supply may be exhausted prior to the deadline and includes new and renewing artists.

New Artists: Please note, new applicants are subject to a review process. The process should be completed within 7 days of applying and you will be contacted via email when completed. Please do not send your payment until you have been accepted. A $160 fee is due upon acceptance for a combination of a print and digital profile. Print maps will be in circulation until supply is exhausted. Digital profiles expire, May 15, 2024. EXHIBTION 2023: Halifax Art Map artist participants are eligible to register for this year’s exhibition, Art Off the Map. The exhibition will take place in June 2023. APPLICATION PROCESS:

1. Include your basic contact information in the body of an email and attach a maximum of 6 images of your work (maximum 1 MB each and 300 dpi) and a detailed biography outlining your professional development as an artist; exhibitions, studies, artist statement etc. Advertisements and publicity shots are not accepted. Please label each image with your name, title of the work, medium and dimensions and email to: .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)
2. Complete and submit the online form below. Do not resubmit images digitally. Please, do not e-transfer a payment until you have been notified via email to do so.
3. The reviwe process is usually completed within one week. You will be notified by email when the review has been completed.

All existing artists: You must either submit the renewal form for your renewal to be processed or email info@halifaxartmap.com with your information. You must include your cheque number in the renewal form and submit. If paying by e-transfer please enter 1234 as your cheque number. Combination Print and digital Listing fee payment of $160 must be e-transferred to info@halifaxartmap.com or by cheque to PO Box 29087 Halifax Shopping Centre, Halifax, NS B3L 4T8 within 7 days of renewal. Print maps will be in circulation until supply is exhausted and digital profiles will run until approximately May 15, 2023.
