Bio

Born in England, Damian Lidgard immigrated to Canada in 2005. His interest in nature photography began after studying Zoology, which taught him to quietly observe and photograph nature. Through studying contemplative photography and Buddhism, Damian takes a meditative and gentle approach to his photography and is able to capture fresh and raw perceptions of the world around him. Often his images are simple, spacious and yet strongly expressive.

Description of artist's work

My interest in the art of photography lies not with the camera but with seeing the beauty of the world through fresh perceptions. With a background in zoology, much of my inspiration comes from nature
