Bio

It is a fortunate thing to find oneself immersed in the tactile and elusive business of 'art' making and volunteer work for the wider arts' community. Stanfield's decision to pursue a BFA as a mature student proved to be life changing. Papermaking and encaustic painting continue to take her to far corners of the world to learn and exhibit. Secord Gallery will be showing her latest works in October

Stanfield gouges, scrapes and melts wax to rediscover colours, textures and mark makings before creating a new surface that reveals and conceals the history of its time in becoming.
