Bio

Smeraldo attended Rhode Island School of Design, Massachusetts College of Art and NSCAD Univ. She received the first NS Cultural Life Award and the Progress Club of Canada’s Women of Excellence Award in Arts and Culture. She helped found Crafts NS and is a past president and Standards Chair, Honourary Member and designated Master Artisan. She also founded the Halifax Studio School of Pottery and One Off Studio and is published in books, mags. Carol has also painted for 30 years.

Craft Nova Scotia Master Artisan Carol Smeraldo has expressed her impressions of ocean life since 1972 with one-off Raku and translucent porcelain vases, murals, vessels and dynamic sculptures internationally. Find her work at the Designer Craft Shop, Blue Mind Gallery Bear River and is an active participant in Art Off the Map.
