Maria Valverde is a well-known artist living and working in Nova Scotia. Her interest in art was encouraged by her father, the popular painter José Valverde. Maria studied at the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design and at Concordia University in Montreal. She has won many awards for her work and has exhibited widely throughout Canada.
