Carol Smeraldo, Festival Exhibition & Tour Artist

Smeraldo has expressed her impressions of ocean life with Raku and Porcelain clays since 1972 as a fulltime professional clay artist as well as drawing and painting since childhood. She is a designated Master Artisan. Then she fell in love with Pastels and started painting more and more. Smeraldo attended Rhode Island School of Design, Massachusetts College of Art and NSCAD Univ. She received the first NS Cultural Life Award and the Progress Club of Canada’s Women of Excellence Award in Arts and Culture. She helped found Crafts NS and was President, Standards Chair, Honourary Member. She also founded the Halifax Studio School of Pottery, Atlantic Pottery Supply School and One Off Studio. She is now a fine art Pastelist.
