Bold, figurative, oil on canvas often featuring the human form. Dramatic sizes up to 6’x8’ with striking use of composition and colour, and distinct emotion and deeply personal yet universal themes.
McMinn began painting in his teens launching a 25+ year career in film and visual communication, which included a Gemini nomination and co-founding an award-winning design firm. McMinn has gained a reputation for the deeply personal stories behind his paintings as well as his significant charitable efforts and collaborations with prominent Canadians, including Ken Dryden and Brad Marchand. His first solo show was held in January 2024 in Halifax.
