Halifax Art Map Artist Profile Application

The Halifax Art Map Society provides a unique guide to studios and galleries for visitors and local art lovers. Halifax Art Map profiles the high-quality visual arts and crafts found in the Halifax Regional Municipality, and highlights artists, galleries and businesses that support the visual arts. Web listings for artists display all pertinent contact and location information, links to websites, a brief artist description and a bio. A maximum of 6 full-colour images as examples of the work are included in each web profile. A limited number of basic artist listings will be included on the Art Map brochure on a first come first serve basis. Artist and gallery exhibitions, festivals and other items of interest are promoted through social media as supplied by participants. Deadline April 30, 2025. New Artists: Please note, new applicants are subject to a review process. The process should be completed within 14 days of applying and you will be contacted via email when completed. Please do not send your payment until you have been accepted. A $160 fee is due upon acceptance. Print brochures will be in circulation until the supply is exhausted. APPLICATION PROCESS:

1. Include your basic contact information in the body of an email and attach a maximum of 6 images of your work (maximum 1 MB each and 300 dpi) and a detailed biography outlining your professional development as an artist; exhibitions, studies, artist statement etc. Advertisements and publicity shots are not accepted. 2. Complete and submit the online form below after completing step 1 above. This is a summary of step one and what will potentially appear on the digital profile. BRIEF SUMMARY AND BIO MUST BE WRITTEN IN 3rd PERSON. Do not resubmit images digitally. Please, do not e-transfer a payment until you have been notified via email to do so. 
3. The review process is usually completed within two weeks. You will be notified by email when the review has been completed.
